Highlights so far include:

1st Aidan Robinson - 50m Freestyle - COUNTY CHAMPION
1st Aidan Robinson - 50m Butterfly - COUNTY CHAMPION
2nd Aidan Robinson - 50m Backstroke
2nd Robin Hughes - 50m Breastroke
3rd Edward Hawney - 50m Breastroke
3rd Amy Murfitt - 50m Backstroke
4th Amy Murfitt - 50m Freestyle
4th Girls - 800m Freestyle Relay

Aidan Robinson of Basildon and District Swimming Club hit double gold at Block A of the Essex County Meet. Aidan, aged only 12 years old, broke the event best ever time for 50m butterfly with 31.30 seconds. He also won the 50m frontcrawl and finished 2nd in the 50m backstroke. Aidan has worked his way through the club from the teaching lanes, to the Rookie Squad, and into the senior Squad. A recent training camp in Spain helped him to pursue his goals, along with dedication and hard work in sessions.

Also competing last weekend was Edward Hawney who finished 3rd in the 10years 50m breaststroke. Robin Hughes also fought a very close final finishing 2nd in the 12 year old 50m breaststroke. Amy Murfitt in the 16yr age group finished 4th in the 50m front crawl and 3rd in the 50m backstroke.

Some swimmers were experiencing their first county gala and recorded the following results, Joe Wakerley 14th, 50m breaststroke, 16th 50m backstroke and 10th in the 50m frontcrawl. Regan Katz 17th in the 50m Backstroke, Maisie Jones 20th 50m frontcrawl , Liberty Good 17th 50m frontcrawl, Nicholas Albrow 16th 50m fly, Chloe Fowler 13th 50m frontcrawl, Nicole Fowler 12th 50m frontcrawl, Kieran Barbero 23rd 50m backstroke, Anastasia Lyne 26th 50m backstroke, and Megan Bicknell 30th 50m backstroke.
Basildon also had 2 relay teams competing, which encouraged great team spirit, those who took part were, Nick Albrow, Ben Turp, Aidan Robinson and Joe Wennell. For the girls we had Megan Jones, Niclole Fowler, Amy Murfitt, Carly Nichols and Chloe Fowler.
